>> Dog Pond - NFLD

The Newfoundland Dog Pond Property consists of 25 claim units, 100% wholly owned by Metals Creek Resources. The claims are situated in south central Newfoundland approximately 40 km north-west of the community of St. Albans, Baie D’Espoire.  The claim group lies at the intersection of four 1:50,000 scale NTS map sheets (12A/01, 08 and 02D/04, 05).

The property was staked to cover a zone of quartz-sericite alteration containing gold and arsenopyrite mineralization discovered by Rio Tinto Exploration in 1980.
The Claim group is almost entirely underlain by quartz-sericite altered felsic to intermediate flows, tuffs, and conglomerates of the middle Ordovician, North Steady Pond formation of the Baie D’Espoire Group.    A single diamond drill hole designed to test an Airborne Electromagnetic conductor within the alteration zone returned  2.3 grams per tonne gold over 2.0m within a 12.3m wide zone containing anomalous gold and arsenic values. A program of prospecting geological mapping, compilation and sampling is planned prior to advancing into a drill program.
