>> Gabbro Lake - NFLD

Metals Creek is apart of a 50/50 joint venture with Golden Dory Resources on its  295 claim Gabbro Lake property situated in western Labrador (NTS map sheet 23H/11 ).  Two of the licences totaling 85 claims were staked by Golden Dory, the remaining licences were staked by Metals Creek Resources Corp.

The property lies on western side of the Smallwood Reservoir, a large freshwater lake created to supply the hydroelectric plant at Churchill Falls. The claims lie approximately 160 kilometers northeast of Labrador City, and are best accessed by fixed or rotary wing aircraft.  The Trans Labrador highway is located 30km to the south.

The Gabbro Lake Property is a grassroots property with a very limited history of  mineral exploration.  This property covers the most eastern extent of the prolific labrador trough iron formation which hosts all of Canada's present iron ore production in western Labrador and northeastern Quebec.

Within the Gabbro property, the recently flown airborne magnetic data defines the Knob Lake iron formation as apart of a folded sequence sequence of iron formations that may be thickened by the structural complexity.

An Airborne Radiometric Mag EM program was carried out in2008.  Recent prospecting and mapping from this past june evaluating prospective airborne EM, Mag and Radiometric targets took place.  A total of 34 samples were collected from various iron formation targets from both outcrop and angular float.  Results ranged from 11.42% Fe2O3 to 75.38% Fe2O3 with 62% of the samples assaying over 40% Fe2o3.  The samples represent massive to semi-massive magnetite and banded cherty magnetite iron formation.
